New Media Operator

The Playroom on behalf of Omnilab Media is seeking to employ a New Media Operator to join our small and dedicated team Media Services team at our Artarmon broadcast facility.

This role will suit a person who is self-motivated with a desire to develop professionally and is able to keep a cool head. It involves the operation of various broadcast equipment, including videotape devices and ancillary equipment.

The role also includes administrative support for the Playrooms library and assisting the Media Services Coordinator & Supervisor, the On-Air Services Supervisor, and the Operational Services Manager as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
A basic understanding of Broadcast standards A basic understanding of video encoding An ability to learn new systems and processes
To be successful in this role, you will need to be highly organised, have plenty of initiative and possess time management skills. You also need to work well under pressure and have good attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete all duplication, feed recording and QC requests coordinated by Media Services Ingest media onto broadcast server for playout Accurately locate, loan, return and store videotapes & compact discs and create new entries into the library database Erase tapes and check tape quality using the RTI proline machine Ensure broadcast technical standards are maintained Liaise between our clients, our other facilities and our on air operation to ensure that all aspects of our 24 hour broadcast run efficiently.
