Offline Editor Rohan Zerna joins Digital Pictures



Melbourne - Digital Pictures is delighted to announce that Rohan Zerna, one of Australias hottest cutters has joined Digital Pictures as Offline Editor.

As a new member of Elle Bilstons team, Rohans role will see him working on a Final Cut Pro suite for television commercials, where he has built a reputation for visual storytelling.

I trained on Avid, but the FCP workflow allows me far greater speed and flexibility, especially with dialogue. Its much more pliable and intuitive; I feel I can really get my hands dirty. And Digital Pictures have a talented team, an awesome reel and great technical support.

Rohan comes to Digital Pictures with 10 years of on-set production experience and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Victorian College of the Arts. His three years as a freelance editor has already seen some pretty high profile work including, some international spots for Nokia, the fantastically catchy NAB/Auskick campaign, beautiful and obscure work for Seek.com and the gorgeous new James Boags spot.

My film making days at the VCA were a fantastic experience but it was there that I learnt to cut well. Believe me, just about anything can be saved in the edit! I love it; I love seeing where we get to, when we really strike an emotional chord and finding options that even the director didnt know were possible. Thats the passion for me. Taking it through from the pitch, to the final product and ultimately creating something that everyone is proud of.

In three short and hectic years, Rohans skills have seen him bag some important industry awards including, 2007 Award Awards - Bronze Best Editing for NAB Auskick, 2007 MADC - Bronze Best Editing for Don't Hold Back, Connex (only editor awarded in that year) and 2006 MADC - Silver Best Editing for ninemsn, Turn Your Back.

Elle Bilston views Rohans appointment as a really important step for the Digital Pictures Editing and Post-Design team. We really have a great line-up of talented people in place now, with exactly the right mix of experience, flair, creativity and knowledge of the Melbourne and Australian market place. Its all systems go for us and Im just so excited about what we will achieve this year.
