OMNILAB MEDIA JOIN WITH PARAMOUNT PICTURES TO RELEASE THE BANK JOB IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

New Roger Donaldson true story thriller inspired by famous unsolved 1971 robbery, starring Jason Statham and Saffron Burrows

Omnilab Media, Australia/NZs largest, privately owned, vertically integrated content development and media service business today announced that The Bank Job, the movie it has co-financed and one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, is to be released in Australia and New Zealand on 31 July 2008.

The Bank Job, a fast-paced thriller directed by Roger Donaldson (THE WORLDS FASTEST INDIAN, THIRTEEN DAYS) and starring Jason Statham (Crank, The Transporter, The Italian Job) and Saffron Burrows (Klimt, Enigma) was released in the UK on 28 February going straight to number one on its opening weekend and has now taken over ?3.5 million across 350 screens. Released in the USA a week later the film debuted at number three and has currently taken over US$20 million across 1600 screens in North America to date.

Omnilab Media Managing Director and one of the executive producers of the film, Christopher Mapp said, "We are delighted with the success of The Bank Job in the USA and UK - Julys Australia/NZ release is looking very promising too. Our strategy and commitment at Omnilab Media is to continue to invest in Australian and international films building a major slate of projects. The Bank Job represents one such successful project".

Omnilabs distribution partner in Australia and New Zealand is Paramount Pictures and Managing Director Michael Selwyn said, "The Bank Job is a tremendous film for these two markets where British stories always work well. The combination of a scandalous true story about British royalty that has been hidden for thirty years, a top-class Director in Roger Donaldson and a really appealing star in Jason Statham makes this a film with great potential. We are also delighted to be working with a forward looking company like Omnilab and look forward to further projects".

Omnilab Media partnered with Lionsgate for the films UK distribution with Lionsgate being sole distributors in the USA. The Bank Job was written by the team of Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (FLUSHED AWAY, STILL CRAZY) and produced by Mosaic Media Groups Charles Roven and Steve Chasman.

Christopher Mapp concluded, "We are delighted to be working with some of the best companies in the business on The Bank Job. Our relationships with Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, Relativity Media, Arclight Films, the Mosaic Media Group and others are constantly growing and developing. As a result we have many other projects in the pipeline and further announcements in the near future".
