THE PLAYROOM SYDNEY LAUNCHES MTV ON SKY NZ PLATFORM

Omnilab Media Group provide dedicated broadcast origination services.

The Playroom Sydney, facilitator of production and broadcast services in the Australian Pay TV market and key business unit of the Omnilab Media Group announced today the expansion of its media broadcast facility with the successful soft launch of MTV on the Sky Television New Zealand platform. The channel will be programmed locally in New Zealand and feature New Zealand productions and presenters with full 24 hour programming commencing at 6pm on the 18th August, 2006.

The Omnilab Media Group will provide the dedicated broadcast origination services for the channel 24 hours 7 days a week from The Playroom Sydneys media facility in Sydney, Australia.

"This is a very exiting project for The Playroom Sydney which continues to build on our already existing close association with MTV Networks" said the Playroom Sydney General Manager Andrew Hogg, "For the initial launch of the channel, services will emanate from our current media facility in Artarmon NSW, while work is completed on The Playroom Sydneys much anticipated new headquarters in Yurong Street, East Sydney".

The Playroom Sydney now offers one of the most comprehensive multi-purpose broadcasting facilities in Australia and NZ to any platform. Whilst beginning in traditional broadcast markets the company plans to further expand its position as a content aggregator, platform distributor and broadcaster into the mobile and web domains.

Hogg continued, "The new channel will only further enhance The Playrooms facility in Yurong Street, which will provide post production services including editing and audio as well as a state of the art origination and distribution facility capable of covering all areas of the media. In fact we are already fielding enquiries to broadcast other channels to New Zealand".

Part of an aggressive expansion strategy, The Playroom Sydney now offers the provision of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint content to its clients. Expanding from its original role as a play-out facility the company is now an established broadcaster in an independent environment that also supplies infrastructure and delivery services to platform providers.

Omnilab Media Group Managing Director Christopher Mapp said, "Both new and existing clients of The Omnilab Media Group, including broadcast and advertising customers, will be able to take advantage of the benefits associated with the expansion of The Playroom Sydney and our new facility located on Yurong Street. This is another example of the continued commitment to the industry by the Omnilab Media Group and we fully intend to support and expand The Playroom Sydney using all the resources we have across the entire Group".

The Omnilab Media Groups Artarmon facility is undergoing a $multi-million expansion and upgrading of its facilities to include data and disc grading for Digital Intermediary projects.

Hogg concluded, "The launch of the MTV channel on the Sky NZ platform is the first of several significant announcements we will be making regarding future plans for The Playroom Sydney. With the full backing of the Omnilab Media Group we are now in a position as a content aggregator where we can take media from different sources, store, supply and distribute that media in any form including broadband and 3GPP making us one of the most versatile and flexible companies in the market".

Work on Omnilab Media Group's new Yurong Street facility has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of 2006.
