TOMORROW: WHEN THE WAR BEGAN has confirmed Australian release date.
Highly anticipated Australian feature film, TOMORROW: WHEN THE WAR BEGAN has confirmed Australian release date.
Paramount Pictures is delighted to announce the feature film of John Marsdens best-selling and much-loved TOMORROW: WHEN THE WAR BEGAN will open in cinemas in Australia on September 2, 2010.
Stuart Beattie, whose screenwriting credits include Australia, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Collateral,
wrote the screenplay and will make his directorial debut on TOMORROW: WHEN THE WAR BEGAN, which is currently in post-production in Sydney.
Beattie said: "Shooting Tomorrow was by far the toughest experience of my career, but also the most enjoyable. To see the movie finally coming together in the edit suite now is nothing short of a dream come true. Ill be forever grateful to John Marsden not only for creating this story but for trusting me to bring it to the screen."
Paramount Pictures will handle distribution and marketing of the film in Australia and New Zealand. In both markets, a teaser trailer and poster are planned to be in cinemas for Easter, regular trailer and posters are scheduled for mid-year, with the whole release supported by an extensive marketing campaign across all media.
Mike Selwyn, Paramount Pictures Managing Director Vice President Australia/ New Zealand, said: We know that since the completion of shooting before Christmas there are a lot of people who have been waiting for news about the release of the film and we are very happy to now be able to confirm the release date and some of the details of the campaign. The film makers are well into the post production process but it is important to take the time necessary to make the final film as good as it can possibly be. What we have seen so far is extremely exciting and we are sure that the many fans of these books will not be disappointed.
Principal investor Omnilab Media, through its production arm, Ambience Entertainment, has taken the first novel in the series, TOMORROW: WHEN THE WAR BEGAN from page to screen.
Producer Andrew Mason added: Weve brought together the very best of talents in front and behind the cameras to ensure this production looks and feels like the huge movie the story deserves. Were already very proud of the film and well be working all the way until the release to crank up the volume even further said Producer Andrew Mason ( Matrix and its sequels, Dark City, Silent Hill).
The TOMORROW: WHE THE WAR BEGAN cast features:
Caitlin Stasey (Neighbours, The Sleepover Club)as Ellie Linton
Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan, Dorian Gray, Perfume)as Corrie McKenzie
Lincoln Lewis (Home & Away) as Kevin Holmes
Phoebe Tonkin (H2O Just Add Water)as Fiona (Fi) Maxwell
Deniz Akdeniz (When the Bell Rings) as Homer Yannos
Ashleigh Cummings (Home & Away, Razzle Dazzle) as Robyn Mathers
